23-12-2007 Back in time for Christmas

I'd like to offer apologies for the protracted downtime of the client area. The issue has now been resolved and service interruptions should be minimal from now on as I have replaced the failing router with a brand new one. Just to clarify, this isn't downtime from April as mentioned below, it hasn't been out quite that long.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas too.

30-04-2007 Scheduled downtime

The client login area (development server) of this site will be unavailable for much of Wednesday 2nd May 2007. Everything is expected to be back to normal that evening. I offer my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

25-04-2006 New services

A couple of new pages have been added to the site today detailing other services I can offer. The main one is Technical Illustration. Not really a new service, it's something I've been doing for a while it's just I never got around to putting it on the site. You'll also see a graphic over there on the left promoting an iPod filling service. This isn't really something I can offer remotely so it's very much a local service for local people. I can offer iPod and Macintosh tuition and support via telephone or email though too so if you got a new Mac or iPod recently and you need a little help then give me a call.

I will also shortly be offering up for download some AppleScripts which help to improve productivity by automating your Mac.

08-04-2006 Out of office

I will be out of the office on Monday 10th April and most of Tuesday 11th. I shall return to the office on Tuesday afternoon. I will still be reachable via the mobile should a query be urgent in nature. I will also check emails if at all possible.

08-03-2006 Roobyroo website II

You probably noticed the new site design so announcing it would be a bit moot now. I'm working on the addition of the blogging software which I mentioned in my previous post and hope to have this up and running within a few weeks. I suppose I should really introduce you to the company figurehead pictured above in the waters of Church Bay on Anglesey. Ruby (full name Ruby Ruby Roo) is a two year old springer spaniel. She'll be appearing in seasonal pictures during the coming year. I'm well aware that this picture is out of season but with the stuttering start to spring we've been having of late I thought a summery scene would be more cheerful. If you're wondering where the name came from, just try saying it the voice of the dog from the Mystery Machine.

07-03-2006 Roobyroo website

I wish to offer my apologies if you have had any trouble in recent days accessing the client area of the site. This was due to a breakdown in communication between the main web server and my home database server. The issue is now resolved and I have taken this opportunity to implement some improvements to the back end system. This means that should anybody experience a similar issue in the future, I will be informed via email immediately, so any downtime will hopefully be short lived.

Additionally, I have been making alterations to the site template. As a result you will currently experience a number of cosmetic issues. The new site template should be fully live within the next couple of days. I also intend to add a blog system to the front page. This will allow me to post information like this more easily in future. Posts will be divided into categories and will include such things as tutorials and technical information as well as opinion pieces. Update to follow soon...

25-05-2005 Development Server Migration

Since this site has been running it has been accessible from the address roobyroo.dyndns.info. Even when visiting www.rooobyroo.co.uk you would have been redirected to the other address.

If you have bookmarked the dyndns address you need to change this now. The client area is now accessible from www.roobyroo.co.uk. You will no longer be redirected to the dyndns address and that address will be shortly disabled.

Your developing website will still actually be on the dyndns server, however if there is ever a network issue preventing access you will still be able to get information from the main roobyroo site rather than merely being presented with a blank page as was the case previously.

Once again: If you have bookmarked roobyroo.dyndns.info to access the development server then you should delete this bookmark and save www.roobyroo.co.uk instead.

19-11-2004 Company registration

Roobyroo is now Roobyroo Ltd, and that's official. Company No. 5289384.

15-10-2004 roobyroo launch

It is my aim to provide a superior level of support and information to all clients at all times. Currently, services such as previewing developmental builds, viewing traffic statistics and site administration are potentially strewn around multiple locations. Indeed for myself the multiple administration methods can become disorientating at times. It is therefore my intention to bring all these systems under a single address with a single username and password each for clients to use.

In the short term my intention is to provide links to each of these services from your pages on this site. This will enable you to access your preview site where you can oversee changes that you may have requested as they happen. You will be able to jump straight to your statistical breakdown and even be able to request work through this same web interface.

If you would like any further information which is not provided on this site, or perhaps there's something else that you'd like me to provide through the pages of this site then please contact me and I'll see how I can help.
